Been a while

It has been a while since I had an actual post. Since I am not working today, I figured it was a good time to end the slump.

Rob's mom and I have gotten involved with the American Defenders (the Nashua, NH baseball team for Military). We are volunteering with them and getting involved with the team/organization to promote our Moms of Marines group. It is awesome!!!

I recommend reaching out to organizations like this if you want inspiration to do more with the military. They are welcoming and always love having home town supporters.

We walked in the Memorial Day parade with them. It was a blast. Here are some images from the day.

We made our own shirts to top it off! We went to Tee Shirt bodega in Nashua to have them printed. They were excellent to help us!! The front is a variation of the Moms of Marines Logo. I was trying to upload the logo, but the colors keep messing up on this site. I don't understand it...I will keep trying.

If anyone is in the Nashua area, there are American Defenders games everyday this weekend! Check em out!

I wish there was a Marine Mom ad...but I just loved this commercial. In honor of mother's day, mothers of military men, and all mothers everywhere, this ad is for you!

Got the call!

Finally heard from Robbie!! After almost three weeks, I got my usual, unusually early phone call at 4:30AM. It was more than I thought I needed. I had been really blue, but I didn't realize that just hearing his voice could help as much as it did. I thought I couldn't settle for anything less than him coming home, but the "Robbie call" has some serious mood altering abilities.

He was excited about the article and WMUR story about him! I was a little worried he would be embarrassed about all the fuss surrounding him.

So now I only have three months (NOT EVEN!) left of this! I hate wishing time away, but I want nothing more than summer to go by quickly.

August here we come!

Celtics game to honor Captain Phillips

Last night (Tuesday), I went to the Boston Celtics game with my boyfriend's sister and mom to see the game and Captain Phillips honored. It was great to see someone who was so close to Robbie.

Here he is getting his trophy and jersey

We made some pretty fancy shirts to go to the game in.

Pretty snazzy, eh? They are even bedazzled!

Had a great time, and it was a great game. Celtics Won!!! GO CELTICS!

WOW!

What a whirl wind week it has been!

From the article, our local ABC affiliate decided to run a story on Robbie. They contacted his mother and I about doing an interview this morning, and I just watched the 11 o'clock news with the feature. It was great!!!

I can't wait to tell him all of this. I also hope that more comes from this. I hope that I can meet more people and do something productive with this experience.

I am going to the Celtics game tuesday night with his mom and sister. They are honoring Captain Phillips at the game, so it is fitting that we go I suppose :-).

Still can't calm down, just so happy he is being recognized...even though he has no idea. What a phone call it will be when I can finally tell him all this!!

Front Page Baby

So my lovely Blogging teacher and Nashua Telegraph reporter extraordinaire, Stacy, wrote a lovely article on Robbie!

So excited and so grateful. I can't wait to tell him...when I finally can.

Take a look!

I love reading about everything going on with his boat, now it is ACTUALLY about him!

Too bad he is away for his 15 minutes of fame.

His mom bought 20+ papers and gave me 8 copies. We are only a little excited...
