Arggggh (said in pirate voice)

So Robbie is off fighting pirates, and I just had a great class on blogging (wink wink to anyone from class who is reading)...

I am still contemplating the template and other aspects of the blog...

Suggestions are appreciated.

For fellow blog classmates, there are some cool template codes on the following sites:

simplyfabulousbloggertemplates (which also has a tutorial section)

Pyzam

btemplates

I am considering this template:
tornpaper

daisy

I love this one!

anyone have any other good site suggestions?

Apartment

I looked at an apartment yesterday with a friend of mine! We loved it, but the time isn't right at this point, so we have to hold off for a bit. I am thinking we will be moving around June or July. I can't wait! Moving is sure to keep me busy for a while.

In other news, I talked to the boy this morning. He tried to trick me into telling him what his mom and I sent in his latest care package. But I am above his tricks, and didn't cave. He is pretty bored, so I imagine this is the highlight of his week.

Anyone have any good care package ideas?

Good evening!

I wanted to share a quote for anyone struggling with a long distance relationship. This quote is one that I read often and it helps me cope with the fact that I don't see my boyfriend as often as I would like. It may be difficult to be so far away, but it makes us stronger and keeps us talking (what else can you do?!?! The phone and letters are all we got!)

Here it is:

"...contrary to what the cynics say, distance is not for the fearful, it is for the bold. It's for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love. It's for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they dont see it nearly enough..."

Anyone else have a good quote?

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!

Hope you are wearing green and have been kissed, whether you are Irish or not.

Today, my boyfriend's mom found this site that has engraved bracelets and dog tags that you can get with writing and photographs.

here is the link: www.inourhearts.org

Here is the Dog tag (which I think is cutest!)

and here is the bracelet

There are so many things out there - shirts, jewelry, bumper stickers, underwear EVERYTHING - for you to keep the man/woman you are missing in mind.

Anyone know of any other sites out there that have original items?

Well Hello

So this is my first post of many.

I am currently going through deployment...and when I say "I am going to through deployment," I mean my marine boyfriend is deployed and I am trying to survive it. This blog is intended for others like me, soon to be like me or anyone who actually reads this/finds it interesting.

I want to give support, advice and general distractions for other Marine/Army/Navy/Air Force/Reserves/etc significant others. It is rough, so you need support to help you through it.

Comments are appreciated!!

So first things first:

My name is Lizzie and I have been with my Marine for a year and seven months. He left in January on a MEU. We talk somewhat regularly, but it varies and is always a surprise. 3:00AM, while at work, while I am in the shower...that has been the most challenging/interesting call yet (and my phone survived and I wasn't late for work!!)

I love him to death, and every night I go to bed with the thought of him coming home. Kind of sappy, I know, but it is true.

My puppies get me through many a rough, lonesome night. Here I am with Oliver:

Sleep well!
